There’s less than one week left until Christmas (yaaaay) and let’s face it: you probably still have a few people left on your list and have no idea about what to give them. I know I have… So, to help you out (that’s what friends are for, right?), here are a few last minute edible gift ideas you can put together very quickly and even customize.
Granola
I already told you about my love for granola, so there’s no need to it again (but honestly, granola is just great). And one of the best things about it is that you can make your own very quickly, without all the added naughty stuff you can find in store-bought versions. So, this Christmas, why not give a loved one a healthy breakfast alternative? Make a batch of granola, put it in a nice glass (a mason jar is perfect), maybe add a bit of a festive touch, and spread the granola-love. Actually, my sister just received it as a Secret Santa gift – how cool is that?
Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Although I definitely did not carved any pumpkins recently (farewell Halloween, until next year!), we do have some locally sourced pumpkin seeds in the pantry. We basically roast a batch every week, and the best thing about it is that you can really add a personal touch – if you have someone who loves garlic more than anything (I happen to be an avid garlic lover, so hi!), add some garlic powder; your best friend likes things hot? Add some chili powder. And again, put it in a nice jar, add a little description maybe, and you are good to go.
Brownie Mix
Yep, another gift-in-a-jar idea, because why not? You basically put all the dry ingredients of a brownie mix in a jar, write a note or card with the instructions, and you have a nice little gift for a friend with a sweet tooth. You can even add a few things like an oven glove or a spatula to make a little kit.
You can even make a little set of these three, which would make a very nice gift in a nice box or basket maybe. If you do so, let me know in the comments or on Instagram with the hashtag #lamimieux. :)
